Dr Sunil Thakersee is a cardiologist who runs a busy general and interventional cardiac practice at Melomed Gatesville which services the Cape Flats area. Together with Melomed, he brings quality, affordable healthcare to a previously disadvantaged, underserved community.
Dr Thakersee earned his medical degree at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal in Durban in 1988. In 1995 he became a Fellow of the College of Physicians South Africa, and in 1998 he registered with the Health Professionals Council as a Specialist Cardiologist. Dr Thakersee’s professional memberships include the South African Medical Association (SAMA), the South African Heart Association (SAHA), the South African Society of Cardiac Intervention (SASCI), the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Intervention (EAPCI).
